Primary Care Doc.: Not really necessary to see a specialist until you have something special. Should see your regular doc first to discuss your symptoms and see if further evaluation is necessary.

Ask your family doc!: I guess i'm confused. Why look for a doctor to treat thoracic outlet syndrome if you don't have a diagnosis? Wouldn't it be better to get a diagnosis first? Regardless, your family physician (who can assist you in reaching a diagnosis) can also refer you to someone who can treat you appropriately. Are you prepared to pay out of pocket? If not, limit yourself to those who accept your insurance.

See a Doctor: I would see your primary physician for a work-up of your symptoms. It is dangerous to assume you own diagnosis without a proper evaluation. It may be possible that you do have thoracic outlet syndrome as the internet has made research of symptoms and associated diseases easily available to the public. However, nothing substitutes for a proper work-up by a board-certified physician. Good luck!
