Gyn exam!: Regular visits to the gyn; and regular pap smears/pelvic exams are used to catch these things early. Treatments are usually local procedures(cone biopsy where the affected portion of cervix is removed, a l.E.E.P procedure which is more involved) but if untreated or not caught early can have more complications including hysterectomy. Please see your ob/gyn!

Prevention is best: Precancerous cervical lesions are caused by a virus called human papilloma virus. Once you have the virus you don't get rid of it, but the lesions can be treated several ways. Very often, your body will heal itself. This is most likely if you avoid cigarette smoking. This has been well documented the cervical cancer vaccine should also be given as it protects from 4 different strains of virus.
