Dr. James Fox
Psychiatry 16 years experience
Treats insomnia: Lunesta (eszopiclone) is a medication specifically intended to treat insomnia. It has a short duration of action and does not interfere with normal sleep patterns as much as medications like benadryl, trazodone, or benzodiazepines (ativan, xanax, Klonopin etc). It has an abuse and dependence potential. Patients may have withdrawal symptoms if taking for an extended period of time.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
