Lots of possiblities: Is the ankle fully healed. If it is, did it heal in good alignment. Could be compensating as a result of injury and putting abnormal stress on other structures of foot. See a podiatrist.

Couple of things: Depending on where the break is, there may be pressure on the nerve, or if in a cast the cast may be too tight.
