Some do.: Adult flu shots distributed in multidose vials have thiomersal. Children's single-dose vials and syringes have none, and neither do the live intranasal flu vaccines.

Flu shots: Flu shots generally contain thimerosal. Thimerosal is a mercury-based preservative that has been used for decades in US to prevent the growth of germs, bacteria and fungi, in flu shots. Thimerosal free flu shots are available.
