I have a lipoma on my left forearm that interferes with my music playing. if i have it removed what is the likelihood that it would come back? are there any non-surgical options?

Lipoma: Steroid injections result in local fat atrophy, thus shrinking (or, rarely, eliminating) the lipoma. Injections are best performed on lipomas less than 1 inch in diameter. A one-to-one mixture of 1 percent Lidocaine (xylocaine) and triamcinolone acetonide (kenalog), in a dosage of 10 mg per ml, is injected into the center of the lesion; this procedure may be repeated several times monthly.

Office procedure: If is safe and effective to have an office procedure for removal of the mass/lipoma. There is a very small chance it would recur. Non-surgical options are benign neglect/ignore it, and not recommended. The risk/benefit analysis is definately in favor of removal. Your symptoms of interference with your music playing should resolve within a few days of surgery.
