It depends diagnosis: The first question is why are you taking methotrexate? It depends on how your rheumatologist is assessing your situation. Once we are clear on why you take it, then the question is whether you continue it, or taper it or stop it.

As long as directed: If your doctor started you on Methotrexate for a given condition. I'm assuming rheumatoid arthritis or lupus perhaps. Then you should continue to take the medicine as directed by your doctor. Provided of course your body is tolerating the Methotrexate and your follow up tests are good -including liver function.
