Dermatitis: With an itching rash, this is probably some form of dermatitis. These are usually treated with some type of cortisone creams. See your dermatologist to find out exactly the cause and treatment. Antibiotics will only cure an infection.

Rash decision?: There are hundreds of causes of rash. Allergic reaction to meds(often antibiotics), foods, chemicals, detergents, bites, etc. Rash can result from infections, bacterial/fungal/viral. If you have already seen your primary doc, then a referral to a dermatologist is in order. Would definitely look at stopping any new otc pills, shampoos, soaps, etc. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is safe to use for itching meanwhile.

Change: Clearly the antibiotics are not helping. You may have an allergy or shin infection.I would suggest another doctor consult soon such as a dermatologist. In the mean time Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or another drug for itching.
