Helpful treatments: Some people are hypersensitive to fragrances and this can be a true allergy or simply an irritation. Allergies may be helped by over the counter, non-sedating antihistamines like fexofenadine, Cetirizine and loratadine. Simple irritation would be best handled by rinsing the mouth and throat repeatedly with water or salt water and using moisturizing eye drops like refresh, systane or theratears.

Saline: Many workplaces have regulations against perfume. Saline rinses (for eyes, nasal rinses, or gargling with salt water) can help with the topical irritation. If that doesn't work, check with your doctor for other options such as topical antihistamine or steroid medications.
