No big deal.: Diastasis of the symphysis pubis is not very uncommon and may be nature's way to help you achieve normal delivery. It opens up the pelvic outlet and allows delivery of even large infants vaginally. Most cases spontaneously resolve with physical therapy and exercise postpartum - don't be afraid of permanent disability. In fact, symphysiotomy is still performed in nigeria to avoid cesarean section!
