Elevated Blood Sugar: Hi this is a perfect scenario to get to your primary care provider. There are some blood tests that need to happen and then a plan to lower your blood sugars either by dietary and exercise changes or even adding or starting or changing your medication. Uncontrolled diabetes is not acceptable. Elevated sugars over time can cause serious damage to your internal organs and put you at serious risk.

Call provider: 'out of control' blood sugar in a diabetic may be a sign of infection (e.g. Uti, respiratory..) or 'any stress to the body' (i had a diabetic suffer a silent heart attack presenting w/ high sugars). So it is important to look for a cause of sudden increases in blood sugars. If no sign of acute disease process then it is time to adjust meds and/or Insulin doses. Hope you are better soon.
