Medical exam needed.: Understandably you are concerned for your wife, yet without further history & medical exam any proposed answer for her situation is but a guess. Pain lasting greater than 24 hours without an obvious cause bears closer examination--especially since you have attempted to self treat for constipation in a reasonable manner for probably the most common cause for abdominal discomfort. Call your md.
