Yes: Babies demand constant attention and can produce enormous stress. All three of you need to deal with the stress and find ways to decompress. Your wife needs time away from the baby, you need to understand her stress, and the baby needs other care givers to help meet her needs.

No, it is not normal: Your wife is suffering w severe migraine and fatigue. Post-partum period is very stressful because she's spending 24 hrs/day w the new reality of thinking about another little human--hers; and she's feeding baby every 3-4 hrs, is awakened at the slightest baby sound. Despite this, she should not be suffering to that extent.Must c doc, now. . Could be post-partum depression..Serious. Dx & rx needed.
