What exactly is a hida scan and what does it involve?

Gall bladder scan: A hida scan may be used to evaluate for acute or chronic cholecystitis or gall bladder dysfunction/dyskinesia. The patient does not have to do much but stay still. It helps show whether your liver, gallbladder or sphincter are malfunctioning.
