Surgical risk: Living donors of kidneys, lungs, liver pieces all agree to have a major operation that entails the risks of surgery, including the (low) risk of death. Long term they survive on the remaining single organ or liver portion which rarely does not suffice. Deceased donors have no risks (since they are already dead). And can even have an open casket funeral.
