Physical: In the past we thought a person can be inattentive because bored, depressed, sleepy, manic, etc--now all these condition can be sorted out and different diagnosis-- add have certain diagnostic criteria and research separating it from all other disorders--but can co-exist.

Criteria for ADHD,: A neurodevelopmental disorder, define it as chronic & brain-based. It harmfully impacts a person's functioning in at least 2 settings ( home & school/work). Often with executive function (taking in, processing, organizing, storing & retrieving information) deficits, it can impact learning, behavior, academics/work, & peer interaction.Management = medications + behavior therapy + structure.

Both: Adhd is medical disorder with involvement of various parts of the brain. It does affect you both physically and psychologically. It is considered a psychiatric disorder.

Proper diagnosis: There are many cases of inattentiveness, some physical, some psychological, only one cause is ADD. You need a thorough evaluation including psychological testing, evaluation by a neurologist or mental health professional, to determine the exact cause of your symptoms. For instance need to evaluate sleep patterns, form of inattentiveness, diet, medications you take as well as psychological causes
