When sitting: Perform some foot and ankle excercises, make sure to get up and walk around every so often ( at least once per hour.) you can wear compression socks if your circulation is fine in the legs.

Elevate.: Keep your foot elevated so it does not swell. If you have a diabetic wound, make sure you bring all wound care supplies with you, and wear a surgical shoe or boot and request a ride if you have to walk a long distance in the airport. Wear good supportive, protective shoes, and keep a close eye on those blood sugars!
