A member asked:

Does a person that is schizophrenic know that they have an issue?

Not always: And that is one major problem. If a person does not believe they have anything wrong with them, they are much less likely to want to take any treatment and/or stick with the treatment. That leads to the psychosis becoming worse. One main goal is for the person to gain insight into his or her condition. Sadly, this may not always happen.
