A 46-year-old member asked:
would you recommend xenical for quick weight loss?

No: Orlistat works by interfering with fat absorption in your intestinal track. As a result, your body absorbs less fat from your meals. The downside is it can cause sudden watery stools. And by sudden, i mean really suddenly and unexpectedly. It can put you in embarrassing situations. I recommend against its use.

A 40-year-old member asked:
How safe is xenical orlistat for weight loss?

Dr. Richard Shewbridge answered

Quite safe.: Xenical (orlistat) binds fat and allows it to pass through your body unabsorbed. This prevents the fat from contributing to weight gain. You need to follow a low-fat diet on this medication because if you eat too much fat, you will suffer oily stools which are difficult to control! if your dietary problems stem from overeating carbohydrates, this product may not help very much.

A 34-year-old member asked:
Does xenical cause weight loss?

Dr. Kenneth Foreman answered

Minimally: A study comparing this to diet only revealed weight loss of 13.4 pounds in one year with xenical, compared to 5.8 pounds with diet alone. The best way to lose weight is eating a healthy diet combined with 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise daily.
