Elderly Eating DO: Those are similar to young ones, except that elderly rely more on laxatives than on vomiting. Elderly face unique challenges such as illnesses that prevent them from eating, poor dentures, loss of taste or smell, medications that lower their appetite, or poor memory due to dementia, or due to not being able to cook or feed themselves or neglect. Also, sadness at losing caregivers & seeking attenti.
