What is the question: Herpes zoster is due to the varicella-zoster virus. It causes chickenpox and then sets up shop in your nerve endings, similar to a squatter. You cannot get rid of this entirely and it has the potential for recurrence, but you might try immunization with the vz vaccine. Hope you get better.

Unusual: It's unusual to have shingles even once at the age of 20. If you're really had shingles, you should make sure you get an HIV test.
