Can be: Giving birth at any age can be a health risk. If a person is in good health they can certainly have a baby at 43. The obvious concerns as you age is the potential for abnormal outcome. At 43-44 the risk of a Down syndrome birth runs 1/100 while that must be added to the overall pregnancy risk of 4% for unexpected outcomes (clefts, premi's, sick). That leaves ~95% good outcomes.
