Vicodin: Vicodin like all other narcotic drugs is addictive and much care should be taken in its use. If you need increasing doses, you may be experiencing "tachyphylaxis"-where you are accommodating to a specific dose and you may continue to chase unsuccessfully after the symptom with ever increasing need for more meds. This is a problem with all narcotics and other pain medication..

Complicated Issue: Fibromyalgia is a very complicated disease. Treatment requires multiple different types of treatment used to effectively manage it including exercise/physical therapy, nsaid's, tens unit, cognitive behavorial therapy, meditation, dietary changes, antidpressants sometimes, and if severe and resistant opiates but within reasonable doses. Discuss with a pain specialist for more advanced options.

Not indicated: Opioids are not clinically indicated for fibromyalgia. This is a tough condition with few proven treatments. I would recommend a comprehensive approach to your pain. If you do respond to opioids then i would question the diagnosis of fibromyalgia as the main source of your pain.
