Modified voice rest: If the loss of your voice came on rather suddenly, there are at least 2 reasons. An upper respiratory tract viral infection or voice misuse, abuse. A sudden shout or forceful over use of the voice can also cause a hemorrhage into the vocal fold. Voice rest for a few days may help. If the loss of voice persists, an ENT doctor can look at the larynx and give you specific diagnosis and treatment.

Rest it: Try not to use your voice, or whisper quietly, until you're better.

Voice rest: Try not to talk or whisper. Boil freshly sliced, peeled ginger root in water until the tea is tan. Add 3 tbsp of honey. Sip to help to accelerate healing of laryngitis. See ENT if not improving.
