Maybe, maybe not: If a person snacks or eats more when he is stressed out, then acupuncture might decrease stress and eating. If he is at the acupuncture clinic, then he is not at the grocery store, the bar, or the restaurant, so he is getting fewer calories. However, if he is getting acupuncture instead of jogging, biking, or swimming, then he is burning fewer calories . . . And might not lose weight in that case.
