More eval needed: There is probably another explanation. This doesn't sound like a panic attack, but since you have panic at times, and because you raise the question, i suggest you sort this out further with a mental health expert. Out of the blue: It isn't uncommon for panic attacks to occur out of the blue. Maybe you're used to having anxiety related to stress, and now you're at the beach and think there's no reason to be stressed out? Anyway, if not contra- indicated, i like to use a low dose a the medication nortriptyline at bedtime for my patience with panic disorder. Something called cbt can be very beneficial.

Try relaxation: If you want to avoid medication for your panic attacks, i highly revommend the book: the relaxation response by benson. Read the entire book, the start doing the exercises as contained in the book. Start with 5 minutes twice a day working up to 10 minutes twice a day. You will soon learn to relax instantly, anytime you want or need to, like in the car. It's not hard. Good luck.
