Being Prepared: Twins and other multiple pregnancies can be harder on you and your body. Depending on the type of twins you are carrying your risks may be higher or lower. You need to discuss mode of delivery, timing of delivery and any other concerns you may have. It's also important to make arrangments with work as well as with family and friends in case you have any complications.

Activity, delivery: There are different types of twins that come with different risks. All twins have increased risks of preterm labor, diabetes and high blood pressure of pregnancy. There can be growth and placenta problems. You need to know what to expect as far as activity restrictions, diet, monitoring, recommendations for timing and mode of delivery. You also want to know what is available at your hospital.
