Relaxing herbs: Two that come to mind are chamomile and passion flower. Chamomile can be used as a tea. Research shows that in some patients, a passion flower liquid extract 45 drops daily is comparable to Oxazepam (serax) 30 mg for treating symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder. Be aware that it can sometimes cause dizziness and sedation in some patients, though. Another is theanine, made from tea.
