A member asked:

What could cause plasma glucose to be 10 - 15% higher than whole blood glucose concentration?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Proportions : Plasma has more liquid in it than whole blood. Glucose is dissolved mostly in the plasma component of blood. Whole blood has less of the liquid in it and therefore will have a lower glucose concentration than plasma.
