Depends: It really depends on the insurance. In the case of medicare, rehab is covered as long as there are realistically achievable goals within a prescribed period of time and there is documentation of continued improvement towards those goals. Once a patient has "plateaued" in their rehabilitation, the physical and occupational therapist are usually obligated to discontinue treatment.
