Is it dangerous to drink the water in vietnam?

It may be unsafe: As a visitor from us or europe it is not a good idea to drink tap water in vietnam, as it may have high e coli count than you are used to.That means ice as well and water you use for brushing teeth. It is recommended to drink boiled and than cooled water for these purposes as boiling will kill the bacteria.Bottled water can be used if you can not boil, carbonated drinks are ok.

I would not drink: water from the tap or water served in restaraunts that is not poured from a sealed bottle in front of you. Also, don't eat food served by vendors that is soaking in water (such as sugar cane). I say this because having lived in Asia - the special "drinking water" that may be provided is often contaminated.
