Muscle relaxer: Soma (carisoprodol) is a muscle relaxer that can help with the back and/or leg muscle cramps you get when you have sciatica. Be careful when taking muscle relaxers, they can make you quite drowsy.

Muscle relaxant: I recommend staying away from this medication as it has a high propensity for abuse. Any muscle relaxant will never help long term, suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist that can address your issues appropriately.
