Yes: By definition sleep apnea is a chronic medical condition. The only mechanism by which it "goes away" is with CPAP (used nightly), surgery, (mouth guard used nightly) and/or weight loss.

Yes: Sleep apnea is a chronic medical condition. It is treatable and in some cases can be cured. If the sleep apnea is related to obesity, then significant weight loss can lead to a cure. For those with a very mild degree, ENT surgery and be curative. The majority of patients require PAP therapy.
