May not : Some one screaming once in a while should not cause hearing loss. Most often progressive hearing loss occurs due to constant noise at the same frequency and high decibel levels. Occupations that are prone airport personnel on the field, jackhammers, rock concerts- sounds ranging above 90 db. It is hard to predict who are prone and how long it may take.

Hard to speculate: It is certainly a setting where I would invest in simple ear plugs for personal protection. Many are available that allow communication level speech but shield against high intensity sounds. Most people who work around such exposures 8 hrs/d might get hearing loss over time. Intermittent exposure is less worrisome than constant.
