A member asked:

What causes a buzzing sound or feeling in your head? is this related to opiate withdrawl?

Probably not: I have treated thousands of patients with opiate withdrawal, and have not seen tinnitus. However, in benzodiazepine withdrawal (valium, xanax, (alprazolam) klonopin) tinnitus is quite common. This is a problem because these drugs are often used to reduce the anxiety associated with tinnitus, and when the patient tries to stop, the tinnitus gets worse. If you're having drug problems, see your doctor please.
