Thyroid: It depends on whether it's over functioning ie hyperthyroid or under functioning ie hypothyroid. Hypo is easier to control with replacement synthetic thyroid hormone - synthroid (thyroxine). Hyper function is a little mor involved and may include medication, radio-active iodine or surgery.
