Yes: Reactive hypoglcemia is generally caused by eating foods which spike your blood sugar, causing an increase in Insulin levels. The Insulin then takes the sugar out of your blood into the cells and causes a sudden drop in blood sugar. Usually eating foods with a low glycemic index (simple carbohydrates, sweets) will cause this. Eating protein or fat with your carbs will help prevent it.

Yes...: Reactive hypoglycemia is defined as a drop in blood sugar after of eating, usually a meal high in sugar or carbohydrates. There is some controversy over the diagnosis and it is not a "formally" recognized D.C., however, clinically it is something that in my opinion & the endocrinologist I know clearly exists & guidelines for its tx exist. It often occurs in people w a FH of DM or pre-DM.
