SSRIs,Antianxiety : Thedrugs used for the treatment and prevention of panic attacks are 1 antidepressants like ssris, which take time to work and need dose adjustment have to be taken daily may make the symptoms worse in the beginning but are effective long term.Other antidepressant may work..Benzodizepines are anti anxiety agents which are controversial , can be be used for short period during acute attacks.

Panic Disorder: Typically, anti-depressant therapy should be used as an adjunct to clonazapam, which in my experience has worked extremely well to control severe symptoms of anxiety and panic.
