Itchy Skin: Causes of itching include: dry skin, internal diseases, nerve disorders, irritation and allergic reactions, drugs, pregnancy, skin conditions and rashes.Itchy skin that isn't accompanied by other obvious skin changes, such as a rash, is most often caused by dry skin (xerosis). Dry skin usually results from environmental factors that you can influence. These include hot or cold weather with low humidity.

Just on abdomen?: Doubt it. Scabies can cause intense itching which worsens at night. If you check your skin you can see little burrows made by small blisters and bumps in skin folds. Places you might find them include your armpits, inner elbows, between your fingers, on your feet, around the buttocks, genitalia and breasts. A dermatologist or your family doctor can make this diagnosis accurately.
