I just had a cavity filled and i'm wondering how long do i have to wait before i can eat again?

Overnight: Usually good with todays filling in just a matter of hours, but certainly safe if you wait overnight.

Ask Your Dentist: Ask your dentists... It may vary, based on the materials they are using. With the white filling material we use, you are ok to eat as soon as the numb sensation leaves.

Wait: You should wait until the anesthetic wears off.

2-3 days: It is always best to avoid biting on a new cavity for a few days to allow the tooth to heal from the "surgery" it just had. A tooth is like a bone, and needs to heal after being filled.
