Overnight: Usually good with todays filling in just a matter of hours, but certainly safe if you wait overnight.

2-3 days: It is always best to avoid biting on a new cavity for a few days to allow the tooth to heal from the "surgery" it just had. A tooth is like a bone, and needs to heal after being filled.
