Possibly: Depends how deep they are.. Waiting five months may lead to the need for root canal therapy and a crown. Why wait? Cavities don't get smaller over time, they just become more problematic.

Consult your dentist: Your dentist can tell you your risk if you wait. Depending on the extent of the cavity and without seeing the x-rays, assessing your cavity risk, diet, clinical exam, etc.
