Monitoring.: In the recovery room, nurses led by an anesthesiologist monitor you as you come out from anesthesia. Any pain you perceive will be controlled with IV medication, & you may continue to receive fluids through an iv. For outpatient surgeries, all ivs & catheters are removed, & they make sure you can tolerate oral intake & pain is controlled before you go home. For inpatients stays, you are admitted.
