A member asked:

I am 72 years old and had a heart attack in the recovery room six years ago after surgery. am i now considered high risk for any further surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: If you can pass a nuclear stress test on a treadmill or with certain medications like persantine or dobutamine if you can't perform on a treadmill, you can safely undergo surgery as a rule with certain precautions. Your cardiologist is best qualified to evaluate and advise you, however.
