How to overcome years of social withdrawal?

Therapy or meds: Social anxiety is not uncommon. Many people see benefits from working with a counselor/therapist to find ways of dealing with these anxiety symptoms and developing better coping skills to handle them. For more severe cases medications can be very helpful. Also, there are a number of self-help books available on this topic.

Why not invest now..: ...In treatment, so that in another few years u can say "in 2013, i began 2 reverse course & dedicated myself 2 cultivating close relationships & engaging in life! it was best thing i ever did 4 myself & those i love/who love me." find clinical psychologist/psychiatrist who can help u identify obstacles that have held u back (anxiety, interpersonal skills) as well as help u chart a course forward!
