Solve the problem: Anxiety can be quite unpleasant if it lasts over time or frequently appears in specific situations. The good news about anxiety is that it tends to respond well to treatment with medications, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. It's important to note that anxiety often leads people to avoid feared social situations. Avoidance often provides immediate relief but worsens anxiety over time.

It depends: It depends on things like what the person is interested in. There are jobs where one doesn't have much interaction with co-workers, like a person who works behind the scenes in a warehouse and not with customers or the public. I have a patient with social anxiety problems who works at night, alone, cleaning offices. Or else, the person could learn to cope with his or her anxiety and branch out.

Seek Treatment: First seek treatment so you don't have to limit your life! the worst thing is to avoid social events; doing so only reinforces anxiety & never allows the possibility of positive experiences that can reduce the fear of future social events. Confidence needs to build on many experiences, or "exposures". Imho the best treatment for social anxiety is cognitive behavioral therapy. Meds can help too.
