Poor blood flow: Mini strokes or transient ischemic attacks (tia's) are caused by the same factors as in strokes. There is a lack of blood flow to the brain. This can be caused by a blockage in an artery or by a clot in an artery slowing blood flow. The difference with a TIA is that the symptoms last less then 24 hours.
