Many things: Heart clots, heart rhythm issues, neck artery calcification, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol... Tia patients have to see their doctor asap or go to the er.

Poor blood flow: Mini strokes or transient ischemic attacks (tia's) are caused by the same factors as in strokes. There is a lack of blood flow to the brain. This can be caused by a blockage in an artery or by a clot in an artery slowing blood flow. The difference with a TIA is that the symptoms last less then 24 hours.
