Simple test.: A bladder scan is a simple office test that uses an ultrasound to measure the volume of the bladder. Don't urinate prior to your visit...Wait until you see them and get permission first. You will lie back, and an ultrasound probe with some gel will be placed above your pubic bone. This may be repeated after you empty your bladder. This is different from a cystogram, which is a radiologic test.
