Is there a link between adolescent growth and dizzy spells when standing up?

Growth: Dizzy spells may be due to blood pressure changes. Certain pituitary disorders can cause dehydration , hypoglycemia, low blood pressure. The pituitary also mediates growth with growth hormone. Have your doctor order labs to check the function of this "master" gland.

No : You're describing what sounds like a vasovagal response to changes in posture, sitting to standing for example. This would lead to a drop in blood pressure, hence dizziness. This is something that can often be dealt with by increasing fluid intake if the result of not taking in enough water in the first place. Please discuss with your child's doctor.
