Yes: Propanol can help reduce anxiety. There are a number of other medications that are also effective, also psychotherapy can work.

Not really: In my opinion, propanolol which is a beta-blocker is not particularly an effective treatment for panic disorder and many studies have proved that. However, you may have something wrong with your heart whereby your doctor may not want your heart rate to go up too high, beta-blockers help that. Have you tried a low dose ssri, like citalopram-10 mgs per day? My drug of choice is nortriptyline.

Inderal (propranolol): Propranolol is effective in cases of performance anxiety & social phobias. In your case, i recommend discussing with your doctor before trying any other meds.
