Need more info: The great two has a proximal and a distal phalanx. 1mm is not an adequate description of the injury. What exactly did your doctor tell you about the fracture, was a portion "displaced" about 1mm ? What part ?

Not too bad!: Generally, if the fracture is well aligned the bone can heal across a 1 mm gap-- usually in a couple of months!

A fracture is a : Fracture. If you're talking about a1 mm. Gap between the fragments, then it isn't much of a healing problem. A gap of 2 mm. Or more is more of a problem and the fracture needs to be reduced by manipulation under local anesthesia or sometimes via surgical reduction.

It depends: It depends on the location and orientation of the fracture. An injury within a joint, for example, may be a more serious injury that may lead to future arthritis.
